John McCain is Coming to the 8th District!

Join Senator John McCain for a North Carolina Road to Victory Rally Saturday, October 18, 2008, at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center, 4751 NC Highway 49, Concord. Doors will open at 8:00 am and you must arrive by 10:00 am. This is an event you will not want to miss! Tickets will be available for pickup beginning on Wednesday at 2:00 pm at the Concord Victory Office located at 50 Concord Commons Parkway, Concord, in the WalMart shopping center on Concord Parkway (Hwy. 29) South, at the Harrisburg Victory Office located in the Cabarrus Headquarters, 4351 Main Street, Harrisburg, and at other Victory Offices in the District. Tickets are limited to four per person and will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please note that a ticket does not guarantee entry to the event. Entry will also be on a first-come, first-serve basis to those carrying tickets, so please be sure to arrive early! For security reasons, bags and signs are prohibited inside the venue. Voter Vault Training

The NC GOP is in the final stretch of their statewide tour of Voter Vault training for GOP activists. If you're not familiar with Voter Vault, it is a great tool provided by the National GOP organization that makes voter information available and accessible in many formats. With Voter Vault, you can quickly and easily check the voter registration status of any individual within your designated area (dependent upon the level of access you are given, such as precinct or county), build a mailing or calling list for yourself and other volunteers, or generate a precinct walking list based on many varying parameters. This tool can greatly benefit any Republican activist!

To be granted access to Voter Vault, you must:

Be a registered Republican;
Be endorsed by a GOP County Chairman or State or Federal GOP Nominee;
Attend a Voter Vault training session;
Fill out a confidentiality agreement completely and agree to the terms of the agreement;
Have the User and the Endorser sign the agreement.

In addition to the above, you must RSVP your intention to attend a training session 48 hours prior to the session. If no one RSVPs for a given session, that session will be canceled. RSVPs should be to Jillian DeCamp by email or by calling 919-828-6423.

The two sessions closest to our district are in Cumberland and Mecklenburg Counties. The Cumberland County session will be held on Tuesday, 07 October 2008, from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm in the NCGOP Victory Headquarters, located at 3800 Tinsley Rd., Suite 103, in Fayetteville. The Mecklenburg County session will be held on Wednesday, 15 October 2008, also from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm in Charlotte. The location will be announced when determined.

Remember: You must be endorsed by your County Party Chairman or by a state or federal GOP candidate, and you must RSVP at least 48 hours before the session. Please contact Jillian DeCamp or Chairman David Black for more information.

The 8th District is comprised of all or parts of 10 counties. Links to the county web sites and more information about the District can be found on the 8th District Counties page. Links to other Republican organizations are also listed on this page.

Good men and women from all over the 8th District serve leadership positions within our district party. Along with the normal roster of Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer, our officers also include the Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of each county in the district as well as Members-at-Large from each county. And like all Republican Party organizations, the 8th District GOP also has a Plan of Organization that governs our activities. This Plan defines how we conduct business, elect officers, hold conventions, and all other matters of running a Party organization.
