- The runoff election for the 8th District Republican candidate for
Congress will be held on Tuesday, 22 June 2010. Turnout for primary
runoffs is historically terribly low. Please return to the polls and
vote for either Tim D'Annunzio or Harold Johnson to represent us in the
US House of Representatives, and encourage all your friends and relatives
to also go vote. Our vote matters.

- The 8th District Republican Party
will hold its annual District Convention on Saturday, 24 April 2010, in
the Stanly County Commissioners meeting room in Stanly Commons in
Albemarle. Registration will be held from 9:45 am until 10:50 am, and
the convention will convene promptly at 11:00 noon. We will be asking
for a registration donation of $10.00 from each attending delegate, but
a delegate need not pay to attend. Remember: You must
have been a delegate or alternate to your County Convention to be seated
as a delegate or alternate to the district convention. Stanly Commones
is located across from Stanly medical Center, on First Street and between
First and Second Streets, in Albemarle.

hold its annual Precinct Meetings and County Convention on Thursday,
18 March, 2010 at the Liberty Place beginning at 6:30 pm. All
Republicans running for office this year are invited to participate, and
we have tentative agreements from several Eigth District House seat
candidates to be there along with some local candidates. All registered
Republicans are encouraged to attend for assigning delegates and
alternates to the district and state conventions as well as getting an
opportunity to meet the candidates before the primaries. This may be the
best chance to meet these candidates in Richmond County before choosing
the one to represent the Republican Party in the November election. The

Convention on Saturday, 06 March, 2010, at Terry Sanford High School.
Registration begins at 9:00 am with the Precinct meetings opening at 9:30
am. The convention will convene at 10:15 am. A Congressional Candidate
Forum will follow the convention, running from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. The
day's events are open to all registered Republicans residing in
Cumberland County. A $5.00 donation is requested to help cover expenses,

Party will be hosting the Ronald Reagan Republican Roundup on
Saturday, 06 February, 2010, beginning at 12:00 noon at Paradise Acres in
Hope Mills. Confirmed speakers include former Charlotte Mayor Pat
McCrory, President of the John Locke Foundation John Hood, and Jan
Simpson. Senator Richard Burr will also be attending the event and straw

Stanly Commons (the same location as last year). Registration will open

10:00 am sharp. One of our main responsibilities at this convention is
to district party officers to serve for the next two years.
The Stanly Commons is located in Albemarle, directly
across from Stanly Memorial Hospital on First Street and can also be
accessed from Second Street.

Saturday, October 18, 2008, at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center, 4751
NC Highway 49, Concord. Doors will open at 8:00 am and you must arrive
by 10:00 am. This is an event you will not want to miss! Tickets will
be available for pickup beginning on Wednesday at 2:00 pm at the
Victory Office locations listed on the home page.
Tickets are
limited to four per person and will be distributed on a first-come,
first-serve basis. Please note that a ticket does not guarantee entry
to the event. Entry will also be on a first-come, first-serve basis to
those carrying tickets, so please be sure to arrive early! For security
reasons, bags and signs are prohibited inside the venue. For more

- Immediately after the Senior Republican meeting (above), the Richmond County
GOP will hold our annual Republican Party County Convention at the Rockingham
Senior Center (see above for address) from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Delegates
for the upcoming election will be chosen as well as allowing people to get
information concerning many of the candidates running for office. This is an
important part of the political process and helps builds the system as the
"grassroots" have the opportunity to establish the foundation of the Party platform.
We want to see every registered Republican and anyone else who may want to
become a part of our family and help us as we continue to build the party through
growth and participation while we work toward moving the Richmond County
Republican Party forward into a brighter future for our county. Richmond
