About Our Party

The Anson County Republican Party meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm in the Wadesboro Library, located at 120 South Green Street in downtown Wadesboro. All registered Republicans are invited to attend. Come and help us build a true two-party system in Anson County.

The Anson GOP reorganized at County Convention, electing officers as shown below and adopting the State Party Plan of Organization as our own. We held our first regular meeting on Tuesday, April 8th, 2008, at which we discussed increasing our ranks, gaining visibility in the community, community projects, and fund raising ideas. Joining us were guests from Union County, John Barker, candidate for the 69th NC State House District, former NC State Senator Fern Shubert, and Union County Republican Party Vice Chairman Jimmy Bention, Sr., who also surprised the assemblage by bringing along dinner. Guests from Cabarrus County were 8th District Republican Party Chairman David Black, Steve Quann, Campaign Manager for US Congressman Robin Hayes (NC 08), and 8thncgop.com WebMaster Richard Moore.

Announcements

The Anson County GOP held its 2008 Convention on Saturday, 15 March 2008 at the Szechuan Empire restaurant in Wadesboro. The county party was reorganized at this meeting, with officers elected (see above) and the State Party Plan of Organization was adopted as our County Party Plan of Organization.
